My Generation

At different stages in life, our Members often have different financial needs and objectives. These areas have been designed to guide and inform your unique generation.

Generation X/Y

You know who you are. Generation X-ers were born between 1965 and 1976 and make up about 17% of the population. You are fiercely independent, careful and skeptical. You are currently in your thirties and forties and are starting families and buying homes.

Generation Y was born between 1977 and 1994, making up about 25% of the population. You are optimistic, idealistic and patriotic. You are hungry media consumers and professional muti-taskers. Now in your teens and twenties, you are full of energy and drive, educating yourselves, working hard, and making plans for your future.

Partners FFCU has much to offer you. Some of you may already be familiar with credit unions. Others may only have a vague knowledge, having seen your parents as credit union members but not fully understanding what we’re all about. If that’s you, click this link - What is a federal credit union? - for a synopsis.

Boomers

You’re a Baby Boomer. Born between 1946 and 1964, you make up about 20% of the population and represent much of today’s spending power. You were raised on television and radio, and you’ve lived through enormous social and political changes. You’re looking toward retirement and are planning to be every bit as active as you have been, redefining the word retirement.

Most of you know what a credit union is and does, but many might not know the advantages of membership and the differences between other financial institutions. Why use a credit union over a bank? My parents swore by their credit union, but what’s the difference? If you have questions like these, click this link - What is a federal credit union? - for some quick answers.

Seniors

What is a Senior? It may or may not be difficult for you to think of yourself as a “senior.” However, the label senior adult is being constantly redefined by today’s 55+ segment of the population. Typically, you are placed into one of three age-related categories: middle adult (50-64), late adult (65-79) or elder (80+). This covers a wide range of life experience. You may be still working, retired or semi-retired. You may be single or married, with or without children and grandchildren. You may be active, or passively enjoying those golden years.

Your personal financial needs are unique. Just like your life situations, your financial priorities are quite different from younger generations. You are probably empty nesting, which allows you more freedom with your resources. You may be a caregiver, helping to raise those wonderful grandchildren or supporting elderly parents. You may be in full retirement, which itself can offer both comfort and concern. You might also be planning your estate, seeing to the needs of those coming behind you.

Your credit union is also unique. Partners FFCU understands your needs especially well, since a good majority of our Members are right where you are today. It’s great to have you visiting our website. Below are links to some of our services that you will find relevant to your financial planning.
