Partners Financial FCU is Merging with Argent!

As of February 2, 2024, the transition of Partners Financial Federal Credit Union’s accounts over to Argent Credit Union will be complete. Below are frequently asked questions about our merger and the transition process.

 

Why did Partners Financial Federal Credit Union merge with Argent Credit Union?

After thoughtful consideration, the Board and Management of both credit unions believed a consolidation of resources would maximize member value and increase employee satisfaction. For Argent Credit Union, this merger helps achieve a long-term strategic objective of growing our branch footprint.

 

When will the account transition take place?

The account transition and temporary service downtime will begin at noon on January 31, 2024, and continue until February 2, 2024.

 

Will I have access to my funds during the account transition period?

Beginning at noon on January 31, 2024, and continuing until February 2, 2024, you will not have access to your account(s). This includes access to Online Banking, Mobile Banking, Bill Pay, branches, and Shared Branching services as well.

Once your Online Banking access is restored on February 2, 2024, past transaction information will be available starting from January 2022.

 

When will I have access to my account(s)?

Beginning February 2, 2024, you will have access to your Argent account(s).

 

Will my current account number change?

Your account number will not change unless you received a letter from us with your updated account number.

 

Will the Partners Financial branches be open during the account transition?

All Partners Financial branches will close at noon on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, and will reopen at 9 a.m. on Friday, February 2, 2024.

 

Can I go to a Shared Branch during the account transition?

No. Access to your account at a Shared Branch will be unavailable beginning at noon on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. You may access your accounts at a Shared Branch beginning Monday, February 5, 2024.

 

What about my direct deposit and automatic transfers; will they still post?

Yes. All existing direct deposits and automatic account transfers will continue uninterrupted.

For now, you will not need to update those currently in place. However, should you need to make changes in the future, the Argent routing number is 251082233.

 

Will my Partners Financial checks still work?

You can continue to use your existing Partners Financial checks until further notice.

If you are interested in ordering new Argent checks, you will receive a one-time $25.00 discount on your order, or one free box of standard checks. Beginning on February 2, 2024, please contact us at 804.748.9488 or visit any Argent branch to place your order. 

 

What if I need copies of my checks?

Copies of checks written prior to February 2, 2024, will not be available to view in Online Banking. If you need copies of these checks, please visit any Argent Branch and we will waive the fee to print copies until August 2, 2024.

 

Will the features of my Premium Checking account change?

No. You will continue to have access to fully managed identity theft recovery services, identity theft expense reimbursement insurance, monitoring services, mobile phone coverage, and more.

 

Will I still be able to receive my E-Statements?

All members will receive a mailed paper statement for January. Beginning February 2, 2024, you may re-enroll in E-Statements once you access Online Banking at argentcu.org.

Your electronic Partners statements will not be available after noon on January 31, 2024. Please download or print any statements you may need by January 30, 2024.

 

Will my current VISA Credit Card and VISA Debit Card continue to work?

Partners Financial members who currently have a Credit and/or Debit Card will receive a new Argent Credit Union Visa Credit and/or Debit Card. Your existing Partners Financial Credit and/or Debit Card will be deactivated on January 31, 2024. You can begin using your new Argent Credit and/or Debit Cards on February 2, 2024.

Your new Argent Credit Union Credit and/or Debit Card have a different card number. If you have recurring payments set up, please remember to notify any merchants of your new card number and expiration date on February 2, 2024.

 

Will my loan payments or rate change?

No. Argent will honor the rate and terms of your Partners Financial loans, including Auto/RV, Motorcycle Loans, Personal Loans, Home Equity Lines and Loans, as well as First Mortgages. Argent Credit Union’s current rates and terms will apply to any new loans.

 

Will the payment protection coverage on my loan change?

No. Your current coverage will continue without interruption.

 

Will the GAP coverage or Extended Warranty coverage on my auto loan change?

No. Your current coverage will continue without interruption.

 

How do I make my loan payment after February 1, 2024

Loan payments can be made through several different channels. For a full list of available payment options, please visit: argentcu.org/loans-credit/loan-payment-options.

 

Can I apply for a loan right now?

Partners Financial will stop accepting loan applications and credit line increases for existing members beginning January 20, 2024.

 

Will my Share savings account(s) change?

Your Partners Financial Share Savings account will be converted to an Argent Share Savings account and will earn the current interest rate.

Your Partners Financial Money Market account will be converted to an Argent Money Management Account and will earn the current interest rate.

Your Partners Financial IRA accounts will be converted to an Argent IRA account and will earn the current rate.

Your Partners Financial Holiday and Vacation Club accounts will remain unchanged. Dividends will be paid quarterly on accounts with a minimum daily balance of $100 or more.

 

Will the rate and term of my Certificates / IRA Certificates change?

The terms of your existing Certificates will remain unchanged.  At maturity, your certificate will convert to an Argent certificate and will earn the current rate.

 

Will the Partners Financial branch hours change?

The hours will be Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The Federal Building branch will continue to be by appointment only.

 

How many branches do you have?

Beginning Friday, February 2, 2024, Argent Credit Union will have 8 branches.

 

Where are Argent Credit Union’s branches located?

In addition to the four Partners Financial locations, there are four more branches.

Can I call and speak with someone over the phone?

Yes. Beginning February 2, 2024, Argent Credit Union’s dedicated Contact Center can assist you with your account(s). Call 804.748.9488 or 800.943.3328 during the following hours:

  • Monday — Friday, 8 am — 6 pm
  • Saturday, 9 am — 12 pm
